Clarity is not what you say. It is what survives in someone else’s mind.

Every act of communication is a chance to realign thought, build clarity, and spark action.

The CommonGround Framework™ (The CGF Model) doesn’t just improve writing — it rewires how teams think, structure, and express ideas across any medium. Whether you are moving from competent to confident, or from functional to influential, The CGF Model is designed to unlock your team’s full cognitive and communication potential.

The CommonGround Framework™ (The CGF Model)

At its core, The CommonGround Framework™ (The CGF Model) is a cognitive model for communication. It teaches people not just what to write, but how to think before they write.

Most communication problems do not originate from poor grammar or lack of vocabulary. They come from unclear thinking, misaligned intent, or poorly structured delivery. The CGF Model addresses this gap by anchoring communication in shared understanding, or what we call common ground.

How It Works

The CGF Model breaks down communication into four universal threads that show up in every platform, whether you’re writing a report, crafting a social media caption, pitching a proposal, or presenting to the leadership team:

  1. Purpose: What are you really trying to say or achieve?

  2. Audience Calibration: What does your reader need, expect, or resist?

  3. Structure & Logic: How are your ideas sequenced to support clarity and flow?

  4. Cognitive & Emotional Triggers: What helps your message land, beyond the words?

By learning to identify and adjust these threads, participants stop chasing templates and start mastering how to adapt their message to any context – clearly, persuasively, and with confidence.

Our Method

We believe great writing is not just a skill, it is the reflection of clear thinking and shared understanding.

Rather than teaching formulas or sharing templates, our programs are built to reshape how people think, structure, and convey ideas. Each session blends 15% core concepts, 35% guided application, and 50% active discussion or peer review, allowing participants to internalize the process through real-time feedback and reflection.

Our method breaks complex cognitive challenges into manageable steps, ensuring learning is not only retained, but transformed into practice.

Our Objectives

  • Sharper Communication Thinking
Participants will learn to think more clearly before they write, resulting in communication that is not only more persuasive, but also more intentional and strategic. This clarity will improve internal alignment, client engagement, and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Creativity with Purpose
We don’t just unlock creativity, we give it direction. Participants will learn how to channel creative thinking into messages that solve problems, shape perception, and move people, whether in business reports, marketing narratives, or everyday communications.

  • Strategic Message Framing
Participants will be trained to recognize and adapt to different audience contexts, crafting communication that aligns with business objectives. They will learn how to bridge intention and reception, so that every message lands with clarity, impact, and purpose.

Our Plus Points

  • Practitioners, Not Just Instructors
Our facilitators are active writers, editors, and strategic communicators who bring real-world insights, not just theory, into every session.

  • Thinking-Driven, Experience-Led
Our programs go beyond lectures. They are designed to trigger reflection, challenge assumptions, and encourage real-time feedback and practice, so learning becomes embedded – not just remembered.

  • Tailored to Your Terrain
We know every organization operates in a different context. That’s why our programs are never one-size-fits-all. We listen, adjust, and deliver content that fits your team’s goals, roles, and realities.

  • Built for Real Results
Whether it is sharper business writing, stronger internal alignment, or more compelling content, our programs are structured to create visible, lasting shifts in how your team thinks, writes, and communicates.

Our Collaborator

Maggie Tiojakin

President + CRO, The Jakarta Post | Director + Co-Founder, B/NDL Studios

Maggie is a writer, educator, and business leader who believes that clarity is not a writing skill – it’s a thinking process.

With over two decades of experience in journalism, publishing and corporate strategy, as well as storytelling, Maggie developed The CommonGround Framework™ (The CGF Model) as a cognitive model for better communication – one that helps individuals and teams cut through cluttered thinking, unclear messaging, and emotion-driven communication.

In her current role as President and Chief Revenue Officer of The Jakarta Post and Director of B/NDL Studios, she leads with a unique blend of strategic precision and creative sensibility. Her work spans strategic leadership, corporate training, and brand storytelling – with one common thread: helping people think clearly, so they can communicate with purpose.

She has taught hundreds of professionals how to sharpen their communication not by adding more techniques, but by stripping away mental noise. Her workshops are known for being rigorous, insightful, and deeply transformative.

Maggie’s work is driven by a simple but powerful question:

What happens when we align what we think, what we say, and how others hear it?

That’s where common ground begins, and meaningful communication starts.

Our Language Policy

The CommonGround Framework™ (The CGF Model) was designed with professionals in mind: individuals working across industries, often in environments where English is the main language of communication. As such, our training materials are fully developed in English and our workshops are primarily delivered in English as well.

That said, we understand that every participant brings a different level of comfort and fluency, especially in Indonesia where English is not our first language. Our facilitators are bilingual and experienced in bridging between English and Bahasa Indonesia, and we’re happy to adapt the delivery using a mixed language approach when needed.

However, we do encourage participants to engage in English as much as possible. This is not about perfection – it’s about helping you build confidence in structuring and articulating your thoughts clearly in a professional context.

Please note that for participants with minimal English fluency, some sessions may feel more challenging. If this is a concern, we recommend notifying your coordinator in advance so we can provide better support.

Our goal is always the same: to help you think sharper, communicate clearer, and find common ground regardless of language.
